Choosing where a business system runs is a little like choosing a location for a warehouse. The right choice depends on what you keep there, where your customers are, how quickly goods need to move and what it costs to run each month. A good logistics partner knows more than one location and helps you choose.

In short, Valse Technologies has been a Huawei Cloud partner since 2021, as a Technology Partner in the Huawei Cloud Partner Network (HCPN), and a seller on KooGallery, Huawei Cloud's marketplace, since 2023. Huawei Cloud is one of five clouds we work with, and our platform is built so that none of them is a dependency. Here is what the partnership is, why we joined, and what it means when you choose where your own systems run.

What Is a Huawei Cloud Partner?

A Huawei Cloud partner is a company that has joined the Huawei Cloud Partner Network (HCPN), Huawei Cloud's programme for the companies that build on and work with its services. Valse joined in 2021 as a Technology Partner at the Standard level, and has also been a seller on KooGallery, Huawei Cloud's marketplace, since 2023.

Key Points

  • Valse has been a Technology Partner in the Huawei Cloud Partner Network since 2021, at the Standard level.
  • Valse has been a seller on KooGallery, Huawei Cloud's marketplace, since 2023.
  • Huawei Cloud is one of five clouds we work with, and our platform is built so that none of them is a dependency.
  • The right cloud for a system depends on where its users are, the services it needs and how it will be supported.

Why We Joined in 2021

2021 was the year we began NagaCloud, the platform that now runs the websites, online stores and business systems we build. A platform that will carry many clients' systems for many years needs a strong working relationship with the clouds it runs on, and joining the partner network was part of building that relationship from the start.

We wrote about how the platform itself came about in building our own platform, from ASAS to NagaCloud.

One of Five Clouds, None a Dependency

NagaCloud is built to work on any cloud, using each partner cloud's best services. Today we work with five:

  • Huawei Cloud
  • Tencent Cloud
  • Alibaba Cloud
  • Amazon Web Services
  • Google Cloud

None of them is a dependency, and NagaCloud sites are served from more than one cloud region. For a business, this means the decision about where a system runs can follow the needs of that system: where its users are, which services it needs and how it should be supported, instead of being fixed by one provider's limits.

How to Choose a Cloud for Your Business

For most business owners, the cloud is something the provider chooses on their behalf. It still helps to know the questions a good provider should be able to answer:

  • Where are your users? A system used mainly in Malaysia and the region benefits from being served from a nearby region.
  • Which services does the system need? Databases, storage, email delivery and AI services differ between clouds, and between regions of the same cloud.
  • How is it supported? Ask who answers when something goes wrong, the cloud or your provider, and how quickly.
  • How does the cost grow? Cloud costs rise with use. Ask how the cost will change if your traffic or data doubles.
  • Can the system move? Ask whether the system could run on another cloud if it ever needed to, and what that would take.
Five questions for choosing a cloud: where your users are, which services the system needs, how it is supported, how the cost grows, and whether it can move

Cloud services and their terms change often, so check each provider's current details before making a decision.

How We Work With Cloud Partners at Valse

We choose the cloud services behind NagaCloud with the same questions in mind, and our team looks after the hosting, the platform and the support. Our clients deal with one team, while their systems run on a platform built to use the best services of each partner cloud. You can read more on our digital platform development page.
